Like the other belles, I loved this book.
First, the title speaks of so much. A box of prayers? How’s that work?
It made me want to start my own box of prayers.
The book is full of Wingate’s classic, smooth writing and heartwarming story telling.
What I love most is the premise that what we do now with our lives, the diaries, blogs, items, whatever, we leave behind impacts the lives of other.
Maybe people we don’t even know. People not of our family or friend circle.
Iola Anne had no idea a desperate, wounded young woman would one day be hired to clean up her home and find her prayer boxes.
She had no idea her words would be needed by someone from another era and lifetime.
She had no idea she’d be a light in a storm for a very lost sojourner.
I love these kinds of stories that put us in mind of the past, or those who’ve gone before us.
Alone or not in our present lives, we are NOT islands.
We are surrounded by the past, present and future.
The writer of Hebrews goes so far as to say we are surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses to this age.
Don’t miss this great read that will put you in mind of who you are and who you want to be.
