We’ve been talking resolutions on the porch this week and I’ve so enjoyed the belles’ posts, as well as the conversation afterwards in the comments. (Dear sweet lurkers, we so appreciate your sitting on the porch with us week in and week out. We just wish y’all would weigh in more, *grin*, pun intended!)
Oh, yes, I had to laugh when Lisa threw that suggestion out there about writing while sitting on a yoga ball rather than a desk chair. Lordamercy, I tried that brilliant substitution once while sitting at my desk, upon the recommendation of Diane Sawyer and her morning show. I kept getting so engrossed in what I was writing that I would forget to “engage” my core. After the ball slipped out from under me and my chin contacted the desk for the third time I decided it was a sign that we weren’t meant to be together. Sigh.
On a more serious note, I’m asking the Lord to help me be more intentional this year about everything from what I put on my plate to what I put on my schedule. I know that what I put on my plate can either promote the good healthy body I want or pave the way for more problems down the road. Ditto times a hundred for what goes on my schedule! My more is more personality is always ready to take on another project. This belle needs wisdom to remember that every project can either promote or hinder my life’s purpose. Intentional is my word for 2013. What’s yours?

Shellie, I love this — Intentional. We should always be intentional but knowing we want to be intentional makes all the difference.
Love you!
Rachel

Well, AMEN and ditto to that, Shellie. I think overscheduling is the modern disease. We need to take that time to smell the roses and enjoy the thing we already have in our lives, don’t we?
Here’s to some downtime in 2013. You can kayak with the alligators and I will… walk on a nice, safe beach someplace where there are no alligators and the sharks are far, far out at sea ;o)

Oh, Shellie…you always make me laugh…and that’s a good thing. Thank you. I’m not laughing AT you falling off the ball for a third time…I’m laughing b/c I feel your pain. And I love your thoughts about what we put “on our plate.” As a VERY overworked/overstretched mom/teacher/farmer/writer/volunteer who eats too quickly/too much…you just gave me one of thos “AHA” moments. Thank you!

You’re most welcome.
Glad to oblige, sweet lady!
