“Never say goodbye because goodbye means going away and going away means forgetting.” - J.M. Barrie, Peter Pan
My posts have become increasingly smaller over the last few months as I’ve been juggling a new teaching job and taking care of my children. My husband received a big promotion. He is now the Chair of the Music Department at the College of Charleston. It’s wonderful for him and our family, but it means we can no longer tag-team parent the way we always have flexible schedules and pockets of time in the afternoon and evenings.
Therefore, after prayer and contemplation, I have decided I have to step down from blogging weekly at www.southernbelleview.com. I leave with a heavy heart because I have treasured my time here with you all as we’ve pondered what the south, fiction, faith and friendship really means to us.
It’s been a wonderful three years, and I hope to visit frequently. Meanwhile, I’ll be raising kids, writing, and teaching creative writing to high school students at a wonderful arts magnet school in my community. Oh, the joy of being around young writers! I can’t tell you how much I love it!
Blessings to all of you, especially my fellow belles, who have showered me with friendship, support and encouragement through the years.
In the literary spirit of the south, I am giving away four copies of my novel, The Wedding Machine. Leave a comment here and enter a drawing to win!
